Compraoalquila.com establishes alliance with stateside Web portal
By: JOSE L. CARMONA

Local real-estate Web portal www.compraoalquila.com recently agreed with leading stateside commercial real-estate Web portal www.cityfeet.com to include commercial listings from the local website on the U.S. mainland counterpart for a fee, disclosed Giancarlo González, Compraoalquila.com managing partner.

The agreement will allow local real-estate brokers with commercial listings on Compraoalquila.com to advertise their properties on www.cityfeet.com and related Web partners for an undisclosed fee. Compraoalquila.com lists properties from large real-estate firms such as Tiri and Coldwell Banker, as well as some 50 smaller real-estate brokers on the island.

“For a ‘small’ extra fee, local residential real estate brokers would be able to list their properties on the U.S. website through our [Compraoalquila.com’s] easy-to-use system,” González said.

He said Compraoalquila.com is now developing the necessary integrated content management system, expected to be running in July.

Through a single account on Compraoalquila.com, the local website’s clients would be able to manage and update their property listings and display up to 25 photos of each property. The information would also be presented in either Spanish or English, González noted.

“With this system and just a click of a mouse, local real-estate brokers will be able to select which commercial properties listed in Compraoalquila.com they want to market stateside through Cityfeet.com, the largest commercial real-estate network in the U.S.,” González said. He added the U.S. Web portal receives more than 350,000 visitors, over 4.5 million page views, and more than 1 million property searches, and posts more than 250,000 properties each month.

The local commercial listings sent to Cityfeet.com will also show up on Cityfeet.com’s partner websites, giving the selected properties a solid, wide exposure, “a feature I believe will produce a lot of [positive] results for local commercial brokers, who have already shown a strong interest [in this marketing service],” González maintained. He added Cityfeet.com partners include such sites as Yahoo Real Estate and the online real estate sections of the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Chicago Tribune, the Denver Post, the Dallas Morning News, and the Boston Globe.

González said Compraoalquila.com also expects to sign a similar agreement in the near future with the leading stateside residential real-estate Web portal. Although he declined to name the company, due to pending negotiations, he said the Web portal in question receives nearly 700,000 visits from people looking for homes each month. This additional online marketing service promises to benefit large as well as small local real-estate brokers interested in maximizing their residential listings, he said.

“We are going to promote a selection of local residential listings that could be of interest to stateside residents, such as villas, beach houses, and vacation apartments,” added the local firm’s managing partner.

Compraoalquila.com customers include firms such as Tiri Real Estate, Coldwell Banker, First Mortgage, R-G Mortgage, Realty One, Realty Point, Call Coll Realty, Tierra del Sol, and Marianella Olivero Real Estate. These companies currently have links to their websites in Compraoalquila.com.

“Compraoalquila.com will have links in Cityfeet.com and in the stateside residential Web portal, which will further improve our ranking and that of our clients with the main search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN,” González said.

González and partner Alberto Casas started Compraoalquila.com in 2003. It currently displays more than 5,000 properties and receives over 40,000 visitors each month.
